If you do it - spend the extra money and put in Sunspace WeatherMaster windows and a heater. You can use it 9-10 months of the year easily.
Is it really a screen porch if it has windows?
Yes! Check the windows out - they are really cool. They are 4 separate windows on tracks that slide down (or up) so that you basically have full screen as well when the windows are down. Gives you the best of both worlds. Full screened in porch whenever you want it and windows when weather is bad.
My in laws added these (or one very similar to these kinds of windows) to their screened porch on a lake a few years ago. They love it (but don’t seem to use the porch much) but I preferred when the porch just had screens. So far, at least one maybe two of the “windows” broke so had to have someone come out and fix it. I think it was still under warranty, not sure. Personally I would add just a normal screened porch not one with these windows because I don’t think it’s worth the cost for me, but my in laws say they like them. Their lake house is also 4000 square feet so I don’t understand why they needed to have another all year round room.
