OP. Thanks for responses. Any safety concerns?
No safety concerns. I've also looked at the price differential between play airlines, Icelandair, ect flying to Europe. I don't check luggage (ever) and honestly my kids carry personal items (big backpacks with packing cubes...it honestly is all they need and all they are physically able to carry) so we typically only need 1-2 extra carry-on's and we are set between 4 people. I've seen some similar pricing a few times with Icelandair but most of the time (especially if you book it crazy early like 9-10 months in advance), the prices are extremely low and lower than anywhere else. They discount the prices for kids too, so make sure you plug it into their website -don't go 3rd party!! Ex: Spring break 2023, I flew BWI-London 1 adult+2 kids and 1 extra carry-on and I paid $350 pp. I could not have done that any cheaper. IAD-Copenhagen at Christmas $450 pp (2 adults, 2 kids +2 carry on's). I could have got tickets for $385 including carry-on's, if I had booked early January but I sat on it for 2 months. I constantly compared and tracked prices DC-Copenhagen with other airlines and was holding out a few months for a SAS airlines deal like I had gotten in 2022, but no, prices were much higher. There *WAS* a great deal with pretty much my same dates with SAS airlines to Copenhagen for the SAME PRICE that I paid with Play that I saw on googleflights and just for curiosity's sake, I went to see how it would work when you actually clicked it.....it was through a 3rd party and when I went to SAS airlines, the deal was already gone (I pretty much went to it within 2 hours of getting an email). There were some low prices I've seen recently with Icelandair, but then when you go to click on their website, the seats are already sold out so snagging one of those elusive cheap tickets is proving MUCH harder than it used to be, even with allll the flight strategies. I used to be able to snag those cheap flights by jumping on deals the same day (within a few hours of seeing the flights) but no longer.
