A serial monogamist who never met the one that would go the distance. Questionable taste in her youth, ie Matthew Perry. Probably not easy maintaining a relationship while working crazy hours during the GG years. Even though they dated for 12 years, stated she did not ask certain fundamental before getting into the relationship with Peter Krause. I take that to mean he turned out to be a Trump supporter, though of course I can't be sure.
Don't get a Trumper vibe from Peter Krause at all. There are a lot of things that can turn out to be deal breakers with a partner that people fail to talk about early. Feelings about kids, family, work, where you live, how you spend your time. Attitudes about drugs or alcohol. Plus a lot of people don't even realize they have strong opinions on some of this stuff until presented with it. Like a person will seem very flexible about where they live until you get a job in another place and want to move and they are suddenly like "No I cannot live more than a 3 hours drive from my parents, ever." And you may have had no idea about this because it never came up and they may have never really articulated it to themselves until the prospect was real.
But what unexpected, having to do with core values, could come up after 12 years together?
I did some googling and found an interview in 2021 where she mentions how they were apart for 5 months while she was filming in Vancouver during the pandemic - usually she would have been able to fly home weekends but pandemic related travel issues made that impossible. She said it was the first time they’d been apart that long, and that when she returned he and his son had established a dynamic that left her feeling on the outs - like they were a married couple and suddenly had new ways of doing things and were always telling her ‘we don’t do it that way,’ etc. She also mentioned in the interview that Peter had a pandemic corner in the house where he had stockpiled excessive amounts of various items that were in short supply during that time, which she seemed to think was odd. This was before they announced their split but couldn’t have been very long before. It sounds like the pandemic impacted their relationship and revealed fractures just like for Hugh Jackman and his wife. Lots of folks split because of what was revealed by pandemic closeness and separation.
