[/quote] Oh and the reason we don't base it on chores (we got this idea from a parenting book) is that if they have to do chores to get allowance, it's too easy for them to say "okay, fine, I just won't do chores" and then it becomes a stupid battle. Easier to say "you get allowance so you learn to make choices with money, and you have to do your chores because you are a member of this family and we work together." [/quote]
