Is absolutely a thing. I didn’t watch a single show on my mat leaves, didn’t want the babes staring at the screens. Besides I quickly learned I never had the time anyway. [/quote]

I did. I'm not a woo-woo parent at all, but their little brains are sponges and their ears work as well as their eyes. TV is a a very heavy, very intense aural stimulus.

I wouldn't say it out loud in person, but yes, I felt the same way. I might use earbuds for a show and turn them away, but I generally tried to read, propping a magazine or book on a book stand so I didn't have to hold it.

In the middle of the night with a newborn I needed to focus on the latch and then would just shut my eyes and rest till it was time to switch sides. Once we got the latch down and baby was bigger, I did side lying feeding, pick the baby out of the arms reach co sleeper and basically fell back asleep until time to switch. If I tried to watch a show I would have been a total zombie the next day.[/quote]
