Picking up reading early is a superpower in neurodiverent children.[/quote] With a sample size around 5000, only about 15 kids were unable to learn to read before age 6 when taught 1:1 starting at age 3. The median child was reading 3rd grade, 1st semester by the end of kindergarten at that preschool (which is not located here). So neuro-typical is to read comfortably before 1st grade, provided child is given 5-10 minutes of phonics or reading aloud each school day for a 9 month school year.[/quote]
