I get it OP. I truly don't get the posts by people who feel the need to proclaim the birthday/anniversary/whatever of their kids/husband/dogs who aren't on social media. But sending a kid off to college is a big change of life for everyone and if a few posts help, so be it. I felt so happy when I saw my kid in one of his first classes on the college's social media account - raising his hand no less! I didn't re-post it myself but I was totally tempted to, only because I was just so happy to see him thriving in his new environment.
This is how I feel. I was so happy to hear how happy they are. I'm also devastated and sad. I've been tempted to share photos yet I'll save them for a small Facebook group I'm in. All of us met on a college forum and no one there seems to mind sharing college photos of our kids beyond move-in day. I'll be keeping the photos to a minimum on my own profile that everyone sees.
