I like most everything about it. Well, maybe except for my body. But that’s minor. I like having teenage kids who are honestly fun and so much easier now. I like being the boss at work. I like having more money (not a lot—I’m a nonprofit boss!). I like having more time. I do not like that people I love have started dying. That’s definitely the worst the about getting older. I miss feeling invincible.
+1 This is me. I think about my weight all.the.time now, but in my 30s looked good with no effort. Kids are getting older, which means more freedom for everyone, but also really sad to think that I won't get to see these amazing kids daily in just a few years. They're so awesome and interesting. More money, no financial issues at all. But parents are sick or dying and the same is true of my friends parents. The stress of working + caring for your kids + trying to care for sick parents who are hours away is a stress like you wouldn't believe. You want to be everywhere, all at once. Until you don't need to be anymore, which is a different kind of stress.
