As I read the op, the school recommended she seek private therapy. Op found a private therapist that was recommended by the school (presumably on their pre approved list) and hired that therapist privately, to come to campus and pull her daughter out of class and provide services. The school did not perform an evaluation not provide any services. They just let op coordinate her own private services on school grounds.

Totally different than a scenario where a school has performed a full evaluation and offered to provide school services. As other pps have noted, privates don’t tend to offer support services and that’s the known risk everyone takes when they choose privates for their SN kids. [/quote]

No — the provider we worked with last year already came to the school to work with other kids.

Same with the provider the school recommended for this year. They’re already cleared to come to the school.

The provider may be cleared to come to the school, but school now needs your child to have a formal evaluation completed to continue to qualify to be seen during the school day. Without the evaluation, they won't allow your child to be seen during the day. Yes, this is a change from last year. Perhaps last year's situation was due to an oversight on their part or they've changed their policy. Either way, if you hope to get your DC seen during the school day, step one is to get the formal evaluation.[/quote]
