Embassy Suites is part of Hilton. There’s one right by SCAD that would sleep 5. From there, you can walk to a bunch of cool restaurants as well as the SCAD museum and bookstore and stuff. It’s walking distance from Collins Quarter, which is one of my favorite brunch spots.
Thank you for your very helpful response! You are a model citizen of Dcumlandia.
Sorry you asked a vague question and didn't like the answers!
People ask for hotel recommendations all the time. If you’ve never been to Savannah and therefore haven’t stayed in a hotel there, then why are you opening the thread and responding? Seemingly every post in this forum could be answered with “Google is your friend” or check trip advisor, but most people realize the purpose of this forum is to post your btdt recommendations.
You asked for hotels around “something” which is so incredibly vague, you should be embarrassed by your post.
Around something vs right on the highway or near the airport Around something = walkable to whatever the touristy stuff is and/or shops and restaurants There’s yet another thread on Miami hotels with the same ask: what’s a good hotel in Miami? This isn’t hard, pp.
The issue is the “something” you want to be around is not conducive to a “pit stop”. The historic, touristy part of Savannah is not near the highway. It’s not like DC or Richmond, where the interstate runs right through the city. What you are asking for is like asking for a place to “pit stop” in the walkable part of Annapolis, on your way to Boston. Posters can’t wrap their heads around this, and you’re digging in on why this is a simple question to answer, which is why you are getting attitude. If the inconvenient detour doesn’t bother you, phrase the question like “recommend your Hilton brand hotel in historic Savannah” and indicate you want to be walkable to shops and restaurants. I think this will get you what you’re looking for. Or if you’re truly looking for a pit stop, then accept that historic, walkable Savannah isn’t the place to get that.
You are way too invested in winning an argument that exists only in your head. You win!!! You are right!!! The op is a dolt who posted the most ridiculous question in the history of Dcumlandia!!! Feel better? Please move on. In my mind, pit stop meant quick overnight as opposed to a lengthy vacation. Despite my ridiculous post, I managed to get some helpful suggestions. A big thank you to everyone who somehow managed to understand the ask and post a tip based on their experience.
Stop trying to make Dcumlandia happen.
