“It’s my bachelorette party! Pay me, total stranger on the road!” “My kid’s first concert — Cashapp me to buy her merch!” Nauseating.
I am close enough to a wedding party to have been invited to a shower where I would have given a generous present. I'm 50 and the couple are in my generation in the family but are 35. There was no shower. I kind of get how horrible they are, and these kids vibe is more to have a jack and jill bbq type thing. I would have been all in for that and would have shown up with a generous gift. I got a Venmo request to fund the bachelorette party drinks. So off-putting to this suddenly aged lady. I think they don't see a difference between the money exchange in venmo and in a card at an event where you can get to know the new family member a little bit. Suddenly my grandma was right.
