Oh, and on the flip side, whatever Club/team my kid plays for is the absolute bestest most elite place on the East Coast. All until their kid losing his/her starting position or gets demoted.
I haven’t really seen many claiming their clubs are the bestest or whatever. Every club DS practiced with touted their coaching and all the coaches said they were the best at training and developing. I’m sure most parents, especially those whose kids are already on top teams, are immune to that sell up and focus on what club best suits their kids needs. I posted what I thought was positive and critical feedback on SYC. That was not one of the clubs DS practiced with, it was based on the few times his team played an SYC team. I don’t think anyone disputes that there are talented kids in that club. They were super competitive players. Each game played however, the coach screams at the players, and not on an occasional basis, but just a constant barrage. Is that not true? If that works for some kids, I’m sure their parents know that and keep them there. It’s effective coaching for those kids. My kids club is not perfect either and we knew that going in. I wouldn’t recommend for some players we know but it’s a good fit for him.
