DP MS and HS teachers can assign a grade of a "0" if no work is done. If an attempt is made and the assignment is turned in the minimum grade is a 50%.
+1 way it should be!
I don’t get it. So, if the assignment is late, it’s now a 50%??
No. During Covid, the policy was changed to where: - if a child did nothing at all (did not even try; never handed in anything at all), the LOWEST score they could receive was “50%.” That policy was passed by the state board of education under 2 justifications: - Covid-19 crisis, and - equity. Partially, that policy has been retracted. But there are other major issues with FFX planned grading policy. These FFX policies are confusing and will be extremely hard on students and teachers as the whole system attempts to figure out what FFX is doing. As a parent, this worries me as my 10th grader begins thinking about college, while trying to maintain the highest GPA she can. I am also worried about the effect of these novel policies on the existing crisis in teacher retention and hiring in FFX. As background, teachers are quoting in droves and few are applying to fill the ranks.
