Some of the evangelical churches in my area have "therapists" or "counselors" who aren't licensed therapists. They're trained to give "Biblical counseling" by their church.  They frequently do more harm than good. [/quote]

They aren’t real therapists or counselors then. Op was abused by their parents, who were supposed to protect them. Parents have the duty and moral obligation to love and protect their children. I don’t know if op is telling the truth, but no human can repeatedly “slit their wrists” without bleeding out and dying. one time slitting wrists is a death sentence without quick and competent emergency medical care.

I have attended multiple evangelical churches and never was any counseling or therapy offered besides pastoral counseling from the pastor. There were no unlicensed therapists or counselors offering services to church members. I doubt that is a real thing.

Can you name the churches this type of service is offered at? Link to their website and show the staff that does so?[/quote]
