Drinking every day or most days would make you a heavy drinker in my book. It's not just quantity, it's frequency. Especially if going just 4 days is a struggle for you, or no notice a difference. Your body has become dependent, and that's pretty bad. Keep it up OP - it's hard, but check those days off and relish in the positives.
This is unhelpful and nobody cares what you think.
I've never met someone with an alcohol problem that wasn't defensive, just as you are.
That probably is a function of how you and others are interacting with them directly or indirectly. Shaming somebody for ONE glass of wine a night is OK here. Telling people to actually do some work to try and control their own weight on this forum, that’s shaming. Makes a lot of sense.
It's all about how you say it. If you endlessly post in the diet forum in response to people getting on Ozempic about how easy it is to lose weight if you just eat less, you're not shaming, but you are annoying and super uninformed. If you shame people the way you did above, and then have the nerve to be the offended one, I have no words.
Evidently you do have some words. This thread was positive until some tea toddler waltzed in here trying to act like a single glass of wine is the same as a fifth of vodka. It’s not even remotely close.
You sound wasted. First of all, the word you're looking for is "teetotaler." And if you think that one must either drink daily or be a teetotaler, then I don't know what to say. And if you think that one most only drink a fifth of vodka to be considered a heavy drinker, then you really are detached from reality. Healthy drinking is having a drink every night at dinner when on vacation, and then coming home, and easily being able to go a month without a single drink. If you struggle, then that's a problem. But I'd bet you couldn't make a week.
It’s a funny thing about words. I guess I got the exact word for you dorks wrong, but you got the concept. I don’t drink. I also don’t have some whacky puritanical idea that a single glass of wine is problematic drinking. And no, the OP isn’t some how pouring out 24 ounces into a single glass. I’m sure you’ve never exceeded the speed limit, jumped out of an airplane, or done anything else moderately risky either.
A serving (1 drink) of wine is 5oz. A standard wine glass holds 12oz. Ops "1 or 2" glasses of wine every nnight may actually be 3-5 actual drinks.
OP here. My preference is actually beer, which is very easy to measure! Lucky for all of us, we can stop debating how much I drink a night! Day 5. Much easier! Don’t even want a drink tonight. :)
