I think an argument could be made that Democrats and Republicans have different views of what aspects of freedom are important. Democrats favor abortion, for example, but not being able to choose other healthcare matters such as taking vaccines. But to answer the OP, here are issues that matter to Republicans that Democrats tend to take an opposite view on: Democrats favor the government or corporations censoring "false information" even if that impacts free speech: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/07/20/most-americans-favor-restrictions-on-false-information-violent-content-online/ 29% of democrats believe unvaccinated parents should lose custody of their children: https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/partner_surveys/jan_2022/covid_19_democratic_voters_support_harsh_measures_against_unvaccinated 51% of likely Biden voters believe unvaccinated people should be interred in "designated facilities": https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/partner_surveys/jan_2022/covid_19_democratic_voters_support_harsh_measures_against_unvaccinated Democrats have more favorable views of socialism, and more negative views of capitalism: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2022/09/19/modest-declines-in-positive-views-of-socialism-and-capitalism-in-u-s/
Also: Republicans support school shootings and mass shootings. They're the price of freedom.
That's intellectually dishonest. Republicans don't believe that gun control will reduce mass shootings. That is a different belief than "supporting" mass shootings. I could argue that democrats support mass shootings because they cut funding to law enforcement and demand more lenient sentences for violent offenders. But I wouldn't make that argument because I have scruples.
Exactly.
+2
