My mom and MIL, who are both overweight, are like this. They are hyper aware of how much everyone ways and will mention any weight gain or weight loss, and they saw awful things about other women they deem to be too fat. It's very transparently a reflection of their feelings about their own bodies. I also think people don't say anything when a fat person criticizes other fat people, whereas if a thin person did it, people would call them on it. [/quote]
