Yep.  Compare the capabilities of a modern military and one from, say, 1000 years ago.  A single modern division could take out an entire army from 1000 years ago with ease.  It would be something like that, but many many times worse.

My belief is that any species or civilization that has developed the awesome technology required for interstellar travel has also figured out how to peacefully coexist.  If they hadn’t, they would have killed themselves off a long time ago.  So I think alien visitors, if there are any, would travel to earth and other life-sustaining planets just to see what the evolutionary process has produced, but not to interfere in that process.[/quote]
