I eat fairly healthy and I’m about 135 lbs/5’4, work out doing barre daily but don’t ever seen to really lose weight. I’m probably about 7-10 lbs from where I want to be and I don’t think it’s really possible unless I’ve very restrictive. Would it make sense to go on ozempic for a few months?
What? No. You need a BMI in the obese range to be prescribed Ozempic for weight loss. Or a BMI in the overweight range with a comorbid health condition like high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
Without commenting on OP, this isn’t accurate. What you’re describing is the cases that are officially approved and most likely to get insurance coverage. You can get an “off label” prescription. Off label prescriptions are very common and not “wrong” or illegal at all.
PP poster here. There is a strong good argument that off-label prescribing of Ozempic for people who don't meet the critiera I enumerated is "wrong" when there is a shortage of the medication (as there is) and folks struggling with life-threatening diabetes can't access it because of the boom in weight-loss prescriptions.
Okay, well, that’s certainly a matter of opinion and not about what OP “needs” to get a prescription.
