Oh I'm absolutely excited!!!! I love my kid but I love my marriage more and pine for alone time with my husband
This is absolutely insane to me. I'm not saying it's wrong or bad but I'm truly shocked by it. I love my husband but I would push him in front of a fast moving train if it meant saving one of my children.
I should have added, and I guarantee he feels the same about me.
I didn't say in a life-or-death scenario we would choose each other over our child, of course we'd both try to save our child. But our marriage is the foundation of my life. He's the only family I actually chose. He's my soulmate. How is that shocking.
I agree and know exactly what you mean. I will (hopefully) spend the rest of my days with him. My (beloved) children will launch their own lives, forge their own paths, and choose their own soulmates. We will always be there for them, but I am going to spend a lot more years (God willing) alone with my husband than I ever spent raising the children. We will have an empty next at 49. Hopefully we have another 40+ years together after that.
