The course are provided using Edmentum software (I think). There is instruction - in the online course. It is designed to be asynchronous. There will be readings and videos embedded and then concept practice (similar to Khan Academy). Of course, kids will skimp on actually doing the readings and videos to learn the material and just do the practice assignments, googling for answers. The opportunity for live instruction happened during the school year. Summer school courses are designed for kids that failed a course to be able to earn credit by demonstrating some engagement and minimal understanding of the material. If you and/or your student really are invested in learning ... then don't squander the opportunity during the school year.[/quote]
