NNAT: 160 COGAT: 131 WISC: 130 GBRS: 2c, 2f Appeal: In Grateful to have followed the board’s advice to appeal.
Our kid's NNAT was a little lower, but COGAT and WISC were a little higher and we got in in the Langley pyramid. The Our kid's GBRS were not as good, but somehow we were able to over come that in the appeal. We put in really string work samples (worked on them over a couple of weekends) and what I think was a strong appeal letter. So glad we made the effort. It was clear in speaking to our kid's teacher that they really did not think our kid should be in level IV. But they are in now! This whole process really shows how a bad match between kid and teacher can really screw up the process - what if we were a less resourced family who did not know how to push back? How many of those smart kids are being missed because of teacher/committee subjectivity?
