This is not supposed to be a profit-making endeavor. Folks should give within their means. Couples should not host showy, expensive weddings as substitutes for signalling the depth of their love or their status in the world. This is not a paid performance. Sickening to think that guests might be invited for financial reasons and not because the couple wanted them their to celebrate their union. Yes, weddings are expensive, but maybe don't get married until you can afford it, or scale it down to a level that's within your means. Don't invite me thinking that I have some sort of financial stake in your production.[/quote]
