My kids ate sandwiches for lunch. I wasn't really going for that "wow" factor for packed lunches. I was looking for easily made and easily eaten food. Done.
SAME Though I did occasionally get “fancy”, freeze a Capri Sun instead of chucking in an ice pack.
PB&J on homemade bread, fruit, a veggie, something crunchy. Done
Winner winner chik'n dinner. "Homemade" bread is an optionality.
Yep. Camp is not the time for creative and elaborate. Main dish, veggie (carrots, cucs, peppers, or baby spinach), fruit, something salty/snacky (seaweed snacks, cheezits, popcorn, pretzels), cheese stick. My kid has a big appetite and this covers lunch and a snack later. Main dishes that my vegetarian kid likes: PBJ (or sunbutter) Cheese and crackers Tortellini, ravioli, perogie Room temp rice and beans Repeat all summer.
Oh, new this year she'll also eat a bagel with cream cheese, hummus and pita (not veggies). Also leftover pizza, except Dominos (that's so gross at room temp!).
