Per OP the investigation is continuing. Regardless, what is she going to do? Let the car sit for the next year or so until the lawsuit she files to collect a few hundred dollars (and costs her more than that in filing fees and time) winds it’s way through small claims court? Or hope for a criminal conviction and an order of restitution which will be years in the coming, if ever? It’s less than $200 to get your car rekeyed - had to have it done myself. [/quote]
