ughhh there needs to be a surcharge for out of county residents (like burke lake), I hate all the DC/MD plates clogging up the parking lot and wearing out the equipment.
Troll.
No, just someone who doesn't appreciate their neighborhood playground/park being overrun by whackos from 15 miles away.
+1
Folks, CJ is not a neighborhood park. It is a destination park. The Dolley Madison tot lot is a neighborhood park. Lacey Woods is a neighborhood park, Cherry Hill is a neighborhood park. CJ, like Frying Pan and Burke Lake, are large parks that people come from all over to enjoy. What world are you weirdos living in?
How many times has CJ had to plead and raise additional funds due to worn out equipment because it is has been studied to be over run and used beyond the planned usage capacity?? How often do you see at least 1/4-1/2 of the parking lot completely FULL of out of county residents? Do the math and you can figure out what is going on here. Here is an excerpt on the problem "Use of the park has exceeded all expectations with nearly 200,000 children and adults visiting Clemyjontri each year. The resulting wear and tear on the park and its unique play equipment and surfacing material require continuing and expensive maintenance and repairs." http://fairfaxparkfoundation.org/projects/clemyjontri.htm To curb this abuse of our resources we should add a fee like Burke lake park (see below) Entrance Fees: There is no charge for Fairfax County residents. Charge for non-county residents on weekends and holidays only (no charge on weekdays), April through late October: Car/Motorcycle: $10.00 Large Capacity Van: $10.00 Bus: $40.00
