I think he’d be great but the crazy right wings will say he is anti-cop l, closed schools, CRT… so I’m not sure he has a chance.
Not a crazy right wing person here. I am sick of his anti-police stance. His current legislation is built off his idea that officers are inherently evil and racist, which I simply can’t get behind. I actually know officers, so I can’t buy his argument. I won’t vote for him.
He’s not anti police, you’re off your rocker. My husband, dad and BIL are officers but they all have advanced degrees and can understand the nuances of crying like a baby because you can’t just freely beat people and ensuring accountability. You can’t just beat people and have racist policies.
Since your family members are all officers, I’m sure you are aware that officers aren’t freely beating people, nor are they running from accountability. There isn’t a single statistic coming out of MCPD that would *remotely* support your statement. Not at all. I challenge you to find one statistic out of MCPD that shows this. Just one. I’m fairly certain you won’t be able to. This is why I won’t vote for Jawando. He promotes fallacies like the one above. His current Step Act is built off the idea that fewer police stops will make people safer because it means fewer interactions with the police. I have yet to see anything that supports this allegation. All I see is an effort that will make everybody in Montgomery County less safe.
Since they are police yes cops best people freely and good cops were afraid to report it. Coos having sticky notes tfat say narc on their desks for being honest. Coos refusing to give backup to cops who report bad cops. Eyewitness accounts of racism all over the police force. Of course there is. Listen Polly Anna, your family is not telling you the truth because it would make you disrespect them. Like I said, people like you who have been brainwashed won’t vote for him and bad cops will perpetuate the lies. Your family who are cops, how many times have they reported a bad cop? Because if the answer is 0 guess what, they are not good ones. Look at stats on moco in the 80’s going forward. Even with the crime this year it’s historically low… it’s like complaining about 5% mortgage rates.
You provided no statistics (as expected) and threw in a couple insults and assumptions. Here’s a fact for you: most internal affairs complaints come from other officers. Yes, that’s correct. Officers report other officers more than the public reports officers. You are welcome to call the district if you would like that confirmed. I’m not brainwashed. I’m able to separate fact from fiction, and I can see that Jawando manipulates information. The simplest example is his attack on SROs. He helped remove them based off cherry-picked data, and then the county reversed that decision. Why? Because of public outcry for safety in schools.
Again you won’t take eye witness accounts over statistics which shows your head is in the sand. Of course investigation come from good cops… that’s why they get notes on their desks/cars/home about being narcs and people refuse to give them backup. Tgats why most coos won’t report bad acts and stand and watch as we saw in the Aspen hill case. SROs weee simply renamed and given an office and the exact same humans who were SROs 3 years ago are SROs today. The decision was never reversed it was implemented over 2 years as planned. So your family has reported 0 bad cops which says a lot… brainwashed. Good cops can’t waste their time or energy trying to change the minds of uneducated people like you they need help getting them off them force.
I’m pretty certain I’ve dealt with you before. I see a familiar pattern of unsubstantiated comments and personal attacks. I won’t be responding again.
