Lol okay. I used to live in Asia — they talked, thought, and judged food way more than any American I’ve met and were much healthier.
In all of Asia???
I mean it’s a pretty general trend across most Asian countries/cultures — special regional or seasonal foods, lots of emphasis on feeding people as an expression of love/affection, but also lots of emphasis on thinness as a beauty standard and direct commentary from parents/grandparents on what you’re eating and how unhealthy it is/isn’t and how you should be eating and feeding your family better.
Pretty much this exactly. Therefore, This thread focused on the US is dumb.
Ok. I admit I do not know much about Asian eating trends. But, is it really that they vilify carbs, sweets, fruit, rice, noodles? I thought it was more, eat in moderation, and lots of veggies in foods. At least in Korean shows I've watched; everyone is constantly eating noodles of some sort.
In my experience as an Asian-American, there isn't necessarily a focus on types of foods. You need to eat the food they offer you to show respect, but don't get fat. There's no mincing words. This clip pretty much sums it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GQQ38yF4iM
