Really upset. The school is too EASY for her and son is bored.

I would also talk to the AART to see they can get some good work samples for the appeal. I agree that the kind of stuff that comes home every week doesn’t really give the opportunity for critical and creative thinking. I think an appeal requires new information like a new diagnosis of ADHD that is impacting the child or something else found in the testing at GMU.

3rd grade. Also I'd like to know whether we can see the file, I have no way to know whether a good job was done in the submission by the school. The work that is brought home is nothing of the quality that can lead to good samples. Some kids are pulled out by AART and mine never is.  I don't know whether this where the gifted work is done. Any advice would be appreciated.[/quote]

3rd grade, she has not taken any SOLs yet, first round in May of 3rd grade. Ask for a copy of the packet from the ART teacher after spring break. You can appeal. I am not sure how much value there is, but you can have her take the WISC at GWU and submit with the appeal. [/quote][/quote]
