Be aware that geometry teaches proofs which if done correctly, are an extension of deductive reasoning. But he may not initially enjoy it, especially if it's taught in a very rigid way. It would be helpful for him to see a proof as just an exercise in writing a bunch of logically connected statements and practice trying them out. [/quote]
