They are recruiting just fine with the new bonus, they have said so themselves. We'll see of the recruits are any good, I'm doubtful. MCPD refuses to do their jobs because 2 out of 11 councilmembers are critical of them which does not inspire a lot of confidence. I don't think the problem is the council, that is a lame excuse. If an org can't attract people it's more likely a problem inside the org.[/quote]

And it has been clearly explained to you that the damage was done with the previous council, of which several were decidedly anti-police. It’s the current council that has a member who has referred to officers as “thugs” and “goons.” She has also called (angrily and repeatedly) for defunding, and she’s currently on the Public Safety Committee. That’s hardly encouraging.[/quote]
