Wow! These Asian-American kids from MCPS are just too good. They keep excelling regardless of how dumb MCPS curriculum and policies become. Of course, their success does not take away how dismally MCPS is doing overall.

They “screw Asian American kids in magnet admissions”?!!! Asian American kids are the vast majority of admitted students - way out of proportion with their proportion of the population. They are extremely privileged. If you want to work out who is “screwed in magnet admissions” I suggest you look at black kids and Latino kids. Look at Blair magnet- seems to be about 65 percent Asian, 20 percent white, 10 percent black and 5 everyone else including Latino. How are Asian American kids “screwed” in the race blind process that vastly favors them over other students of different races? Just stop with this BS.[/quote]

I'm always mystified by these claims too. They just don't align with the reality given the magnet makeup and especially since the selection is race-blind.[/quote]
