I was just quoted $670 for my 2021 MB glc 300.  I don’t know the mechanic well and he’s saying my rotors and pads need changing to stop the occasional squeak coming from them when I bake up.  He claims they are rusted.  I’m not sure I trust this.  The car has 16,000 miles.   [/quote]

Lots of things can cause a squeak including being worn out and ready for replacement. That’s pretty low mileage for replacement, do you not drive much? Could be the reason they are rusty. Regular driving will clean that right up. Any other issues you are experiencing besides squeaks?[/quote]

No other issues.  I drive at least 5 days a week.  Went to my old reliable mechanic and he told me to keep driving.  That I don’t need any of this.  Car brakes squeak when I back up only. He said moisture in the pads may cause this.  I only have 16k miles and garage park.  I am considering getting rid of it. I’m used to a Lexus that required minimal.  Not sure what I would get in its place though.
