The TJ application does not ask about math competitions and the essay section is done before kids would know the results so there is no way for a kid to include the outcome in their essay.

Math Count+AMC 8 + Science Olympiad is no longer applicable to TJ admission. These tests are not admisnter with strict monitoring anyways. Not all schools participates hence under new admission process, they do not carry weight or perhaps work against the applicant.[/quote]

1. Equity, not all students have ability top participate and have $$ for enrichment. Most these students preprare for years through outside enrichment. This puts other kids at disadvantage whose parents do not spend $$$.
