We got towels from, of all places, JC Penney after they got a high rating on Wirecutter a couple years ago, and they've been great. Unfortunately, I don't think they make the same towels anymore, or maybe the quality has declined, as they are no longer mentioned in the Wirecutter review.

Oh, I'll also note that while not the softest or best quality, we got some gorgeous but very affordable towels for our kids' bathroom and powder room from the Opal House line Target and I always get compliments on them. It's not what I'd want to use daily but my kids care more about having "cool" looking towels than having really soft, high quality, and for the powder room we just wanted something with a pop of color and pattern in an otherwise pretty basic room. We bought them all on clearance, too, so it wound up like less than $5 a towel. So now I recommend that brand to anyone looking for decorative or kids towels.[/quote]
