who needs a 20 pound stroller?!
OP here. We travel with 2 small children. I bring my double bumbleride EVERYWHERE and the monster weighs way over 20lbs. We can keep both contained, we can stuff all our carryons there and it's safer for everybody. They have a place to sleep if the flight gets delayed or canceled (what happens 1 out of 2 times we fly) a place to seat and eat - we can find highchairs everywhere, you know? - and we go to all sort of places where a skinny umbrella stroller would be more pain then help, so we bring our monster truck with us everywhere. DH travels for work, usually between 2-4 flights per week and it's been a long time since we flew United/Continental. We fly the cheapest no matter what - work or not - so this is not an issue for us. I always talk to him about the hate for kids in the plane that I see here on DCUM but he can't understand what you guys are talking about. He said that what bothers him the most is the ginormous fat guy occupying half of his seat or the guy in the middle seat taking both armrests. We also bring carseats to the plane and my main concern with this "new" policy is that we'll have to ask the passengers in the aisle to move out of the way so we can install the carseats by the window what will take much more time and space than letting us go first to get it all done quickly.
