Most school gyms do not allow any food or drink except water. So, no. Are you volunteering to buy the food and sell the food all day and police where the food is eaten and then pick up all the trash?
Except literally every High School that has concession stands for their indoor sports
Those same schools ban anything other than water in gyms for non-school events.
Except for when youth programs offer to run the concession and they allow it? I've been to 15+ youth wrestling events, for orgs unaffiliated with the school and they have all had wrestling events. They don't do it for youth basketball bc youth basketball is too decentralized/unorganized. Not because the school prevents
A condition of our permits with ncs for fcps school gyms including HS gyms are that only water is allowed in the gym. They threaten to cancel your permit.
Jeez. This is the second thread in the past week where my experiences in MD have been vastly different than VA. The other was related to using cash (as opposed to digital only) for entrance fees to school sporting events. I am very glad that MCPS, FCPS (FredCo), CCPS, HCPS all don't have these seem rules here in MD
If it was digital only, I just wouldn't show up.
I think that thread was in the tweens and teens section. And VA parents were sharing that even to get into a HS sports event, their child needed a phone with a special app to pay for entry. You couldn't just drop your kid off with a 20 dollar bill. They needed a phone and specific app to pay for entry or to purchase at the concession stand
That is ridiculous and elitist. Not all kids can afford phones and cell service.
