OP again. I just remembered that I had a tab open for months with the recipe for Rosa Parks’ Peanut Butter Pancakes and for some reason never made them. What better time than Shrove Tuesday during Black History Month!? (What kind of Mom Of The Year award can I get for integrating religion and history lessons into dinner with a simple pancake??)
Oh god  it’s pancakes OP. Chill the F out.
Welcome to the food board where we find joy in obsessing over food! Hope you’ll catch some of the joy!
That part is fine. It’s when she doubled back and wants some sort of commendation for cooking Rosa parks pancakes in black history month and to make an educational lesson for the kids on it. Just make some friggin peanut butter pancakes without the performative “in our family we are allies” stuff.
PP was surely joking about the award. She alerted people to a fun recipe and noted the connection to Black History Month. I think you find BHM triggering.
OP here. I was totally planning to nominate myself for a MOTY--thinking about the Humanities Division, Intersectionality Subsection? Maybe I'll get some extra points for the race/gender/religion angle? Should I also teach my kids about Rosa Parks' inspiration for the Disability Rights Movement? Good thing PP stepped in to give me some much needed perspective since I wasn't possibly making fun of myself for turning a fun dinner into a history/religion lecture.
