One of the top school districts in the country and we get automated comments, (1) 10 min conference and 28-30 kids in a classroom. It’s kind of appalling.
DS class has 19 kids in it and we are not at Title I school. There are a good number of schools with smaller class sizes in FCPS, it is something that parents can look for although class size fluctuates so small class sizes today might be larger in 5 years and large class sizes today could be smaller. I don't like the automated comments, they tell you nothing and are useless. We have not had an issue with our 15 minute conferences. If there is more to be discussed, ask for another conference. We have friends whose kids have needed multiple conferences and that has happened without much fuss. The Teachers are in touch with the families of kids who are struggling at our school. Some of that is less county policy and more how individual schools are run.
