Interesting article but in some ways a little off I think.  For instance he says this:

I think people who do all those things are trying to insure that their older years will be healthy rather than sick and feeble, not trying to live as long as possible.  I think there are very few people who just want to live as long as possible, like into their 90s or 100.  I think most people want to live to see their grandchildren, want to enjoy retirement if they can be relatively active and sharp, and then want to die a quick and painless death without being a burden on others.  That would typically translate into dying in your late 70s or 80s, sooner for some people.[/quote]
