We live closer to Woodson. So our pupil placement is there. Kings park west by Robinson.
How do you determine this? I have looked at the boundaries but I can only find general HS boundary maps, not AP specific? Also, if you are already at LB for 7 & 8, wouldn’t that be taken into consideration?
They don’t take that into consideration. They look at the closest school open to transfers. So, if You are zoned for Robinson. You could potentially end up at South County, Lake Braddock, Fairfax.
Not true. Our neighbor has kids at Woodson right now due to AP placement. Kings park west (laurel ridge). So, it really depends on where you live. Lake Braddock would NOT take the kids due to distance
That’s what I was saying. They don’t simply look at where you went to middle. It’s availability and class selection.
ETA that Woodson looks closer to transfers right now, so I didn’t list that If Robinson is truly dropping the APs, a lot of kids are going to try and make the placement to surrounding schools.
People have always been able to pupil place at Robinson/LBSS based on AP vs IB--waivers have never been hard. Robinson only offered a few AP courses and a full IB suite. Neither schools is overcrowded.
