Encourage him to apply.[/quote] Yes, there is a chance. They absolutely have to apply by the EA deadline to have a chance. If they are able to submit a really high test score that can help, but if it’s clearly not at the high range of test scores for UMD, it could hurt chances by sending them. Fall admission might be very competitive but spring admission (if get look into Freshman Connection to have the opportunity to be on campus in the fall) I could see a decent chance. If that doesn’t work out there is also the Maryland Transfer Advantage Program to start at community college and transfer.[/quote]
