MCPS has much higher standards and expectations than the state. It is after all one of the leading schools systems in the USA.[/quote]

13 teachers became NBTC in 2021 and 72 renewed.18 in 2020 with
28 renewals. Some probably didn't have to renew. There's not enough MCPS teachers who are NBCT to require this for CS and TLs, especially with NBTC renewals now at 5 years instead of 10.
