My first recommendation would be to find a Pelvic Floor PT, even if your obgyn does not think you *need* one, they can help you. In VA you have up to 20 PT appointments without the referral of a DR, so plenty. Also check out deliciouslyfitnhealthy on instagram she's a certified postpartum trainer and has tons of free ideas on her profile, or you can get one of her programs. I would avoid going to pilates or barre until you re-learn how to activate your pelvic floor.
I second this. Intensive ab workouts like situps can really exacerbate conditions like diastasis recti, and you may have it, so get checked out by a pelvic floor PT first. I didn't have diastasis after pregnancy (not bad, anyway -- maybe a 1-inch separation) and I still took it really slow, like a lot of clamshells and side planks before attempting situps or regular planks. And I'm sorry for your loss, OP.
