DESITIN DESITIN DESITIN - doesn't everybody use that? Like 99% of people??
oh NO. The stuff doesn't work when you have a baby with a severe rash and eczema. It was a total waste for us. We used vusion. Then the ped told us how to make it ourselves (it was $250/tube).
How do you make it?
I'm not the pp, but I am pretty sure Vusion is a mixture of plain petroleum jelly, zinc oxide, some kind of medication for yeast (whether it's prescription Nystatin or over the counter Lotrimin), and cortisone cream. I was the very first commenter on this post, and I will say that we were also prescribed Vusion for the horrible diaper rash, and unless the rash has yeast in it, the Vusion will not treat it. It's also incredibly expensive as the pp noted, depending on your prescription plan. I think we first got it for $50, then our co-pays went up and it is $90.
