New grads here make half that as well....this is, I think, the third cycle of "nursing is a well-paying stable job so I'll go into it" that I've been through. It was a tough job market years ago when I graduated, and it has fluctuated since. One of the things I was getting at, however poorly, is that the field is stable because of the chaos and lack of control nurses have. I love my crazy job, but there are so many people who can't deal with it...they want to finish one thing at a time. Besides, I wear the equivalent of PJ's to work every day. And get to say Dammit, breathe! on occasion......[/quote]
