Yes it is a lifelong medication for weight loss. Your doctor should have told you this. Once you are off the medication your body will want to return to your previous weight and your hunger will come back.[/quote]

I don't think that the jury is out on whether everyone will need to take it indefinitely.  For some people, once they get the weight off, they can continue lifestyle changes that will help them maintain.  For others, who have had lifelong weight issues, they may need to take it forever if they want to keep the pounds off.

I'm the OP and have been off of Mounjarno for 3 weeks now, largely because I can't get my Rx filled unless I pay $1K.   I have definitely noticed the appetite suppression is over but I am going to try to keep the weight off by watching my diet and exercising regularly.   I am working with my doctor to see if I should start Wegovy if weight starts creeping back.

OP, thanks for sharing your experience.  I am paying a little over $500 for my prescription, and I can't imagine paying that price per month for the rest of my life.  I was thinking about switching over to another drug too once I get to my goal weight on Mounjaro.  [/quote]
