[/quote] Agreed, the only possible exception being if it was an existing meeting that boss realized late might be useful for you to attend as optional (which it sounds like was maybe the case) - but in that case I'd clearly communicate those circumstances and offer to catch up separately on any highlights given the time and the last minute notice.
