I had to do a 12 hour round trip this weekend in the freezing cold in a 10 year old American Made SUV. Somehow it did not break down. According to DCUM that is impossible. I am fully expecting Mary Bara the CEO of General Motors to congratulate me in the morning. I heard in Japan it will be a national day of sorrow. How could an American car do that? When Japan finds out they will be pouring billions into R&D. Please DCUM Gods of Auto explain how it happened. I read thousands of posts on the Cars and Transportation thread and it just cant happen. No American Car could do a 12 hour round trip at ten years of age successfully.
I’m not surprised at all. Today’s American cars are more reliable than Japanese cars. My 2008 Ford Fusion is still running strong at 310.000 miles. I was told it wouldn’t last 100.000 miles. Meanwhile, my wife’s 2010 Toyota Camry was done before 150.000 miles and had to be replaced this year.
Demonstrably untrue according to general stats. Toyotas dominate the top ten cars that have longest longevity and miles. See thread in this forum .
That list is biased as it is for “cars” U.S. Made pickup trucks if included a lot more America vehicles would be on list https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1097469.page
