OP here. No, this thread was really about spirit wear and whether parents push their love of their alma mater on their kids. I would love for my kid to go to UVA, but I've never mentioned it to him. But right after I hit, submit, I said to myself, somebody's gonna say I just wanted to brag about DH's school. But I only brought up schools b/c I was wondering if people from some schools are more fanatical about it than those from other schools.

But oh BTW, why is it that if you went to a highly regarded school and you happen to mention the name, you're bragging. I think that's why DH'S never tells people where he went to school - not even in professional settings where it would be appropriate - not unless someone asks him directly. I dont see what the big deal is - esp on DCUM. How could it possibly be bragging when it's anonymous.[/quote]
